Formation
Two half-day training sessions in the same format as previous editions will be held on September 30 afternoon and October 1 morning. All participants are welcome, especially students.
Tuesday afternoon, September 30
2pm-3pm: Training by Vincent Kéryvin - Université de Bretagne Sud - Institut de Recherche Dupuy de Lôme (UMR CNRS 6027) - Indentation basics and good measurement practices
3pm-4pm: Training by Olga Smerdova - Université de Poitiers - Institut P' (UPR CNRS 3346) - State of the art on indentation of viscoelastic materials
16h30-17h30: Training by Christophe Tromas - Université de Poitiers - Institut P' (UPR CNRS 3346) - Mechanical property mapping by instrumented indentation and indentation by near-field microscopy
Wednesday, October 1 morning
8:30-10am: choice of
practical training on instruments by 1-Bruker or 2-Anton Paar or 3-Scientec (KLA) or 4-RTEC instruments or 5-SURFACE-Tec
6- Digital training by L. Charleux: Post-processing tools for indentation
7- Numerical training by D. Mercier: Machine learning analysis of multiphase materials (steels, composites...); Analysis of nanoindentation mappings to extract local properties and correlate them with microstructure (images, phases, grains...). Use of unsupervised machine learning algorithms in a Python environment (Jupyter, Pandas, scikit-learn, etc.).
10:30am-12pm: choice of
practical training on instruments by 1-Bruker or 2-Anton Paar or 3-Scientec (KLA) or 4-RTEC instruments or 5-SURFACE-Tec
6- Digital training by L. Charleux: Post-processing tools for indentation
7- Numerical training by D. Mercier: Parametric simulation in crystalline plasticity; Exploration of the effects of crystalline orientation and material parameters on mechanical behavior via Ansys Mechanical and Ansys Discovery.
